Been coming to this beautiful little gem of a place for over 30 years now with the children dogs and grandchildren sadly though it's gone downhill as it is used by disrespectful people it is a magnet for drug users and drug sellers who go into the woods or sit by the stream and louts setting fires in the woodland and grassland areas setting fires to tree stumps and motorcycles. Pushbikes dumped in the stream and endless rubbish left by morons who can't be bothered or feel they don't need to use the bins provided. The local authority dont help as they cut the grass down during blazing sunshine causing grass to burn easily as it is scorched and they leave tree stumps in silly places and piles of wood chip left all over the place. No respect whatsoever for the beautiful wildlife there and I've seen a lot over the years tragically a beautiful place in the wrong place.
Love this place I've been coming to washbrook Nature area for 13 years and still smile as I walk around. It just gives me an amazing feel. It's a beautiful green space full of Buzzards, the odd wookpecker and a kingfisher who passes over the bridge a few times a day, occasionally monkjack dear and not to mention the butterflies and other bugs. It has the Brook, which the dogs love and two ponds also full of live. It is a very peaceful and calm place.
Litter is a problem, especially in the woodland and during Lockdown. The stream is occasionally muddy after intense rain. Wildlife can nevertheless be interesting. Egret seen in the last two years.
Nice and peacefully, green and great for a taste of nature, don't take your best shoes as they may get muddy. Brilliant for dog walking.
It's a lovely place for quick walk but also a rubbish tip it's never cleaned which is a shame
Nice walk, shame about the litter from the school kids though
