Watatunga Wildlife Reserve offer guided tours of their conservation work with endangered deer, antelope and birds as well as 5* self-catering accommodation in the heart of west-Norfolk. ALL TOURS AND ACCOMMODATION MUST BE PRE-BOOKED.
This was in the top 10 best experiences of my life to date. The staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable, the information they give you is packed full of interesting facts and even offers insight into how the reserve is doing their part to help in the research of the behaviours of the different species; as well as doing their part to help ensure the futures of the different endangered species. The reserve is absolutely perfect, lots of tall grass and tree cover to allow the animals to graze comfortably and hide away from the buggies should they feel nervous or uncomfortable which is so refreshing to see. You can tell they put the animals safety, well-being and comfort before anything else. Every buggy in the convoy has an opportunity at each stop to be able to take their photos whilst staying a respectful distance away from the animal; during which the guide will offer you insight into said animal. What an amazing experience it was and I am already talking about going back. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!
Came here for a late afternoon Safari with friends and had the best afternoon! The tour Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, the Reserve itself was so peaceful and Beautiful in the sun. We were 'greeted by the great bustard, got up close and personal with Water Buffalo and the Roan Antelope and had the honor of seeing 1% of the worlds population of wild Mountian Eastern Bongo. I would recommend this Safari to everyone and think I may have found another one of my 'Happy places'.
One of the best days out I've had in the UK. You felt truly immersed in the 'wild' and we saw so many animals. Our guide was fantastic - so knowledgeable and clearly very enthusiastic/passionate about her job. Would definitely come back! We also left our dog in their kennels and it was a good facility
Excellent customer service. I booked the wrong day and the team were wonderful and re-booked me with no issues. Great concept, the team is so knowledgable about the animals on the reserve and take conservation extremely seriously. If you tell them what you want to see, they'll do their best to make it happen! We asked for Dave the Great Bustard and we were treated with his presence, they knew where to look for him! Animals have plenty of space to roam and seem very settled and happy. Driving the golf buggy was lots of fun! Thank you for a great morning, completely different to the everyday and well worth it, we will be back!
We had a great visit to Watatunga today! The trailer tour was excellent, the guides were extremely knowledgeable and gave us loads of interesting information about the animals and how they're managed at the reserve. Would definitely recommend!
Fantastic set up excellent freindly staff and a hour and half safari in Norfolk. You set off in your buggy with a guide, Miranda was ours who was knowledeable about all things animal related. No big game, there is endangered deer antelope and some fantastic bird life though. If nothing else just go to meet Dave ........
