This picturesque waterfall is nestled in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by lush greenery and rugged hills. The River Shiel cascades down a rocky slope, creating a breathtaking spectacle as the water tumbles and foams its way down. The falls are surrounded by a tranquil atmosphere, with the sound of the water crashing against the rocks and the calls of local wildlife filling the air. Visitors can hike to the waterfall through a scenic trail, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside and perhaps spotting some of the local wildlife, such as red deer or golden eagles.
What a beautiful place, no huge fall but loads of smaller ones, easy parking not too far away. Just a little bit to add, I have suffered warts on my hands for a few years, within 2 weeks of me spending time in this water the 2 large and two smaller warts cleared up. Not saying it was the water but I can't think of anything else that I did out of my normal routine.
Take a short roadside stop for a little stretch and appreciate a part of the history in the area
Sooo we did NOT see a waterfall. We walked about a quarter mile off the bridge to the right up the hill to see if we could see this waterfall. We did see a pretty stream flowing over rocks. Fortunately, I had waterproof shoe covers in case and my cousin did not. His shoes were soaked in mud and water. Not sure if it's worth it unless there's a better way to drive up to the bridge at least. Enjoy
I always stop by here when I'm going past this area. It's so serene and beautiful, I'm sure in great contrast to that battles that have happened on this very land. A stunning place for a little break along your drive to wherever your destination is.
The view is very beautiful and attractive! I strongly advise people to drive here and take a look. Flying a drone is nice to see the full view.
A short but challenging hike to get to the actual falls. Found a nice shady spot to sit and listen to the water.
