The Waterworks Museum in Hereford is a working museum which makes the story of drinking water spring to life. This award-winning museum is one of Herefordshire's leading visitor attractions with something for all ages. Visitors can see the UK's widest range of working pumps and engines from across Herefordshire, neighbouring counties and Wales, most of which are the last working examples of their type. Heritage engineering at its best - and wholly run by volunteers. On steam days you can experience the sights, sounds and smells of the bygone Victorian era. Children can enjoy using hands-on exhibits, including in the Play & Learn Water Park and the WW2 exhibition. Dogs welcome on leads. Free entry for children and free parking.
So informative. Great place to take kids, with lots of hands-on things to play with.
An interesting place to visit, nice cafe too. Lots of engineering, also dog friendly
Fabulous visit. Volunteers are all kind and friendly. We enjoyed the water play section and got a refreshment in the cafe too. Affordable, interesting and highly recommended. Only open on Tuesdays and some Sundays (entirely run by volunteers).
Visiting on a steam day we got to a see a large number of working engines with plentiful information and a superb team of volunteers. Well worth supporting with the entrance fee. The cafe is also very nice and there is a good water themed play area for kids.
Visited on a steam day. Fascinating collection of water pumps in action. My friends and I showed an interest in the workshop, which was locked ,and a volunteer opened it for us. Amazing visit.
