I have to be honest and say I wasn't looking forward to our trip to waterworld having read some pretty negative reviews but having been before and enjoyed it previously we decided to take a chance, and it paid off. From the minute we arrived and were greeted by the cheerful guy checking the bags as we entered up to the minute we got our refunds for the lockers, I don't think I could pick fault. The pools were clean and tidy, as was the eating area. The outside area was well kept with loads of space to sit and chill. The food was reasonably priced and not bad for this kind of place. The kids stayed in the water for almost six hours, which tells you just how much fun they were having. All the staff seemed friendly and helpful. One lifeguard even took the time to tell my daughter how to do rollovers in the water. All in this was a fantastic way to spend a day out with the family.
Great day out! I took my 5yo who cannot swim yet and while we were refused entry to the rapids (I was holding him and have at several other places), there was plenty for him to do considering he cannot swim. He had a great time on the kids slides, in the whirl and bubble pools, even the wave pool which is quite choppy but in a good way. The food is "fine" and while there are reviews scalding it, you're not at a Michelin starred restaurant so set your expectations. It's fried food so that it's quick to serve but the portions are good. The main problem with the food aspect is that considering you're not allowed to take any food or drink into the venue (bar juice, and like the website says they take I off you. The security had a table full of crisps and bits that they probably ate later), the system that is in place is shocking. We queued for forty minutes to get our food! One person taking the orders and three people very very slowly serving people. It was chaos and eats into a big portion of your visit (pun intended). While the people serving the food were slow and having chats, the rest of the staff were great and very friendly. We would go again, but it's an expensive day out if your kid can't swim and use a large number of the rides so it won't be a frequent thing for us. Personally, I feel that Sandcastle in Blackpool is better but my 5yo disagrees...
Amazing day out with the kids they loved it. Few pointers... 1. You need to pay for parking PS4.50 2. The pre paid wrist bands help budget for food and drinks (the queue can be long!). There is a separate menu for gluten-free and halal 3. Although it's "disabled accessible" it's not disabled usable. I got in and changed, then sat on the side lines for the entire time except one trip into the wave pool and swim to the outdoor pool with a lot of help, by which point decided it really wasn't safe for disabled users. Apparently you can request a chair to help you to get into the wave pool. There are no other exit/entry points for disabled users and if you get too tired to get yourself back to the "beach" area you are screwed.
We went to the mini village with our twin grandsons and they loved it. The room was beautifully clean. It had a good variety of imaginative play areas. I also liked that the staff took time to play a game with all the children, they spoke to them and did a mid play tidy round. A young but great staff. There was even a decent coffee for the grown ups.
Best waterpark I've ever been too. Very nice theming. Best water slides in UK. Unfortunately I can't give 5 stars as the staff were blowing their whistles all the time and the outdoor area was closed. They also do not allow you to take your own food or drinks in because they want you to buy their overpriced food instead. Also 25 quid for the whole day is value for money
Visited 22.8.24, 2 adults 11yo & 18mo. Overall visit was really great, 12 year old was really impressed and toddler loved splashing about in the play area. Two points of contention, not enough water floats for the larger rides. But more importantly wait time for the cafe. We waited in the queue for an hour, the young girls that served the food were surly and very very slow. I appreciate they are young and working may be the last thing they wanted to do on a sunny summer afternoon, but took away from the overall experience. Whilst we did eat at peak time, an hour on your feet queuing for standard cafe food I feel was a bit too long. . To me the system being used at the moment isn't working. Whilst in the queue the lady taking the food orders at the till frequently stopped taking orders to let the serving staff catch up. We placed our food order at the till and didn't actually get our food for a further 15 minutes. Luckily the 3 hour stay wasn't implemented as if it was would have really impacted our day. Having said that, will not stop us visiting again, but we will be sure not to use the cafe whilst there.
