A picturesque waterfall located in the Scottish Borders, Waulkmill Waterfall drops 10 meters down a rocky slope, surrounded by lush greenery and moss-covered stones. The waterfall is nestled in a serene, tranquil setting, with the gentle sound of rushing water creating a soothing atmosphere.
Quiet and unnoticed beautiful waterfall. It is a very small waterfall and it looks to be a private one as well. But easy access with a 7 minutes walk from where it says 'private road, no access' or something. Can try if you want a little offbeat waterfall with less crowd.
Parking's a bit scarce on the 'Private' lane at the old mill itself. The walk is easy up to the waterfall. You can only look from a wall on the drive as close access has been made private, probably by the owners of the adjacent cottages so, no chance of a paddle on a hot summers day. There is no pools anymore, they've been left to become overgrown and unaccessable (private keep out labels again).
Very beautiful scenery, 5 to 6 mins walk from parking .
Well worth a visit to this waterfall. We visited after seeing White Nancy and Kerridge Hill trig. It would be a short, easy walk from Bollington though too. The Waterfall is better than I expected. From Bollington, the waterfall is reached via decent roads/paths. From Kerridge Hill, it's mud tracks! The waterfall is near Waulkmill farm.
Smaller than expected but aesthetically pleasing. Park further down the road and walk about 7 mins up.
Lovely Springtime walk. Easy to walk around and calming. Parking was easy Will visit again. Came a couple of weeks ago to walk up to White Nancy which was a good walk too.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
