This 19th-century boatyard on the River Tamar in Devon, England, is a charming spot for a stroll. The old slipway, cranes, and workshops evoke a sense of industrial heritage, while the surrounding countryside and river views provide a picturesque backdrop. Visitors can explore the yard, admire the boats, and enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal at the on-site café.
Lovely cafe, views across river tamar, great scones and superb sandwiches and cake, highly recommended, will visit again!!
Amazing, beautiful location with Cornwall on side & the Bere Peninsula of Devon on the other. Great little cafe in the boatyard. Great place to break your journey with a coffee & one of their delicious cakes ! Seems a popular & busy location with lots of boats moored just offshore together with plenty of activity.
I took my overheating outboard to Weir Quay Boatyard to be repaired. Absolutely excellent service, they phoned me regularly to update me on progress and to explain what they had found. I had problems starting the engine once it was repaired so called in to see Andy (owner) who immediately downed tools and came over to sort it. A trip up the river proved the engine was indeed repaired and was running sweetly. Andy even came looking for me in the rescue boat as I'd been away so long and hadn't called him to say all was well. First rate sevice and thoroughly recommended. Jim Wood
Top service. Fair prices. Andy and the team care and they know what they are doing. Well worth taking your boat up the Tamar to this lovely spot for any work you need doing.
The Air is so fresh, totally surrounded by beautiful views from Both Devon and Cornwall Amazing
