The Welsh Crannog Centre is an archaeological site and museum located on the shores of Llyn Tegid, a lake in north-east Wales. The centre showcases the reconstructed crannog, a type of ancient lake dwelling, and features exhibits on the history and culture of the region's prehistoric communities. Visitors can explore the reconstructed crannog, which is built using traditional techniques and materials, and learn about the daily lives of the people who lived there over 1,000 years ago. The centre also offers interactive displays, artifacts, and educational activities, providing an immersive and engaging experience for visitors of all ages.
beautiful cottage, well-kept, clean, I recommend to everyone to see it while being by the lake
Lovely spot for lunch if the cafe is serving food? Couple of bird hides and some easy walking.
Brilliant place for hours of fun, with canoe or boat hire available, free parking and the Boathouse pub for refreshments. Picnics, paddling or hiking you can enjoy all here
Unfortunately there is no access to the Crannog Centre at the moment as it's very flooded. Such a shame as we'd travelled there specifically to see it. Hopefully the water levels will go down soon I'd give it a good while before you try and visit though. We did get to feed the ducks and we saw the horses, which was lovely.
A superb little place. Excellent place to spend couple of hours with your family, fetch a rowing boat or a pedalo and take a ride around stunning lake. Free car park, couple of cafes, campsite and ability to bring your own canoe or a dingy makes this an absolute gem of a place. You must visit it as you are going to Brecon Beacons.
A fascinating place with an accessible recreation to demonstrate it's construction and use. Marvellous to see the crystal clear waters of the lake. Plenty of parking spaces and lots of picnics areas so an ideal venue for a day out with the kids and family. A well equipped cafe with toilet facilities and shop selling Welsh souvenirs, fishing nets, drinks and ice creams are nearby
Good for kids
