A picturesque beach with soft, golden sand and calm, clear waters, surrounded by a charming Victorian-era promenade and picturesque views of the Dee Estuary.
It made for a nice day out. It was high tide the initial part of the visit. I would love to come back and walk across to Hilbre Island. There is a lifeguard station here. It was clean and tidy. I saw staff walking and checking at low tide. There is a Morrisons just by the car park where you can get lunch, nice benches to sit on the promenade. It is family friendly, I saw kids on scooters and ice cream for the kids (and adults), which can be easily got here. There is a car park just by it, disabled parking available too. Oh, I also did see some people kayaking and windsurfing too..
A wonderful, natural beach. When the tide is out, you have around a mile of flat , golden sand to walk out on. With enough time, a walk to Hilbre is a treat, especially if you catch the seals. Perfect for walking your dogs, with no seasonal restrictions.
Typical UK beach, sand it is not the best, water is quite far, good amenities around, toilet facilities and Ice cream available for the kids, family oriented, easy to park (PS1/hour), supermarket Morrisons close by.
Best sunset here ever. It's perfect to have some beer with your friend here.
Nice place, plenty of places for food. Toilets. Flat for wheelchair users.
One of ourfavourite beaches on the Wirral. Has it all from soft sand to marsh's & a nature reserve. Take shelter on a windy day in huge sandhills that run alongside the Royal Liverpool course & there's also the famous red rocks at the Hoylake end with it's old lighthouse (now a residential property) & its own sandy beach. There's even a huge marine lake for sailing , which has a fresh aired filled walking path around it. Plus there's&'s on sale daily here as well as a Morrison's only a minute's walk away. And here in West Kirby you get fantastic panoramic views across the Dee Estuary.Especially of an early evening, when the sunsets are something to truly behold...
