A 19th-century textile mill turned museum, showcasing the history of the cotton industry and its significance in the region, with exhibits featuring original machinery, interactive displays, and a recreated Victorian-era worker's cottage.
Stunning location for a coffee and cake. Flat easy walk along Manifold valley to Thor's Cave with an ice-cream van on route. Well worth a visit if your in the area.
We enjoyed the climb to the top of Thor cave. It was raining so very slippery and uneven. Not suitable for pushchairs but children as young as 2 managed to climb up there. You can go into the cave.
Great place to picnic and buy from the tea rooms, cake, sandwiches etc. You can paddle and sit by the river. Bikers meet and chat too (I was on the bike), also cyclists meet up there. The only draw back for me was no hot food, but hey it's a tea room!
Beautiful part of the Peak District. It's a very special place for me personally as it's where my love of the outdoors started, as it was the first place I drove to when I bought my 1st car, many many years ago, & I go at least once every year! Wetton Mill can be very busy on summer weekends, but there's so many walks in the area, all with stunning views you can easily escape the crowds. Magnificent part of the southern Peak District
Lovely place to walk around, this is where Tissington hall is located. There is a candle maker called 'on a wick and prayer' which is definitely worth a visit, some amazing Ladies in there making beautiful candles and wax melts / diffusers
