A picturesque waterfall nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Wharnley Burn Waterfall cascades 30 feet down a rocky slope, creating a misty veil that rises into the air. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery and moss-covered stones, with a gentle stream flowing from the base of the waterfall into the nearby valley. On a sunny day, the water sparkles like diamonds, and the roar of the falls is a soothing serenade to visitors who come to marvel at this natural wonder.
This was a lovely find that even the person who owns our holiday cottage didn't know about. It's a short walk but beware the first stretch is quite muddy. Then you will find a lovely little bridge before the gorgeous waterfall surrounded by rocks comes into view. If you keep asking past this you will find yourself alongside a wide river. It's a short walk overall. Park at the park car park, cross the main road and take the 'public path' sign slightly to the right - you'll see it from the junction of the car park.
Great little discovery on our walk. Very pretty especially with autumn in full swing. Really enjoyable walk. Gets boggy in places but worth the hike
Lovely little waterfall, although access from the A68 is easy, getting up to the fall is tricky! There is parking very close by too. Definitely worth a visit for photographers though, if you can avoid the endless folks taking waterfall selfies
Gorgeous waterfall in a lovely setting! Follow the public footpath from the main road to find this treasure. I visited while there was snow was melting upstream and the flow was great. Recommend to walk a bit further to catch the smaller sets of falls. The path was a bit muddy - take good footwear.
Beautiful little waterfall. So peaceful. Defo wear wellies or boots as was muddy on the path. If you follow previous instructions you should find it. We found it easily! I went for a dip and it was freezing but exhilarating
Really pretty waterfall and part of a lovely walk along the river we parked in the carpark in the village and then used Google maps to find the way through the public footpath .
