Calvin's Car Diary Event 2024 was held there. Good venue. Ample parking. Don't just use the postcode to get there as Google maps takes you to the back of the venue into residential area via a mixture of 'b' and 'c' roads. Made for an epic journey.
Spent a couple of hours here, Nephew enjoyed 1/2 hr on the Crazy Bugs. Very kind helpful staff and not too busy during the weekday visit. Cafe was nice, food was good. Hopefully book the quads next time.
Really well organised. The National Karting Championships were on, but this didn't affect our experience as we were checked in and taken around to the Crazy Bugz area with our little one. In terms of the Crazy Bugz experience, the host was great, making the little ones feel comfortable and empowered to drive around the fun track. There was no water on the course due to the weather but it was still good. I would say it suits ages 6 to 10 only. P.S. A lovely cafe just around the corner near the canal boats. There's a lock directly next to it.
Our quad-bike safari was a Virgin Experience present and Whilton Mill turned out to be a great choice. Cam (our instructor and guide) made the quad-biking great fun, and we had a very enjoyable session; going up and down hills, through woods and water, and around fields. Facilities at Whilton Mill exceeded our expectations; the upstairs bar/restaurant offers a great view of the race track, and the lunch (included) was lovely. After quad-biking we spent some time watching the karting, which added to the day's enjoyment. Highly recommended if you get the chance. Our appreciation extends to all staff.
The experience was great. The staff were very helpful and nice. I absolutely will comeback in the future with friends. I have to give only 3 stars because of the karts. Some of the karts are not in the best condition, I had to swap 3 karts to have a decent one, even the 3rd one had problem with the brake. I think it's time for new karts.
The venue was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The delivery of the safety information was nicely done. We visited the smaller track and used the karts provided. The karts looked like they were well looked after. The track is 450m in length and offers sufficient challenge for a beginner. After your session, you receive a printout of your lap times, which includes your position against other people in the same session. They are also emailed to you, which is a great idea.
