Whisby Nature Park is a beautiful landscape near Lincoln, full of wildlife, walks and trails, managed by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. We have an Education Centre for school groups and work parties. The Natural World Centre and cafe is managed separately by NKDC.
Beautiful place to walk around, lovely views, I would highly recommended walking around when the sun is setting as the view is wonderful. Seating areas around the lake and indoors. Lots of activities for children. Free indoor play area and lovely cafe.
Beautiful place to go for a walk, some lovely sections where the dog can go for a swim. Lovely facilities at the entrance with an interesting little museum, nice little shop and cafe. Gets extremely busy on nice days though, and finding a seat indoors can take some time. Could do with a couple of dog litter bins half way round the long routes around the lake.
Lovely place to walk the dog, dogs must be kept on leads, there is an area where dogs are allowed to be off lead which is signposted, very Clean, plenty of parking, nice restaurant, seating area for dogs and their owners either outside or just outside from the restaurant.
Ample car parking and the pay machines take card and cash. Lovely cafe with a good selection at reasonable prices. The walk itself I found to be a pleasant surprise in that the paths were very well maintained and quite level. Staff were helpful and polite. We will be returning again and have added to our frequent return list
We took our dog and there's only one walk where dogs are allowed off lead. This took 45 minutes. It's a shame because we would have spent a lot longer here if he could have walked off lead further afield (very well behaved)
I have just discovered the walks around the lakes at Whisby Nature Walk and love them. I am aiming to do a 10k walk in a few weeks, so it is ideal for training walks. It is also very picturesque with fantastic wildlife. It is however disappointing when I see some dog walkers have just thrown poo bags on the floor around Grebe lake instead of carrying them a short distance further and dispose of them in the bins provided. What lazy & self-centred people who do this. Also there are clear notices on the website not to allow dogs to swim in the lakes, but again today I saw 2 different families throwing balls into the lake and getting their dogs to fetch them. This is surely for the dog's protection as the bacteria in the lake could be very harmful and also any flea treatments that the dog has had could be harmful to the wildlife in the lakes. People really need to act more responsibly surely. However, I thoroughly enjoy my walks.
