A 12th-century Augustinian priory ruin nestled in the rolling hills of Worcestershire, featuring a striking blend of Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles, with crumbling stone walls, pointed arches, and a majestic bell tower that stands as a testament to the region's rich monastic heritage.
Free to visit site. There is a small bit of parking at the side of the road but not much. Alternatively, you can walk down from Boscobel House, which takes about 15 minutes. The path down is a bit boggy in places, once at the priory, there is one information board and enough of the ruins to give a scale of the site. It's not massive but worth visiting if you are doing Boscobel. The Boscobel House guide book does have a bit more information on the site
It was a lovely sunny day and I was the only person there (with my dog). It was a nice change from our usual walk (all be it not a very long walk).
What a wonderful piece of history. What remains of the priory while limited still shows the craftsmanship that was called upon in its day. The structure is safe for your children to run around and use up their energy or even have a picnic. Highly recommended a visit.
Fantastic place especially at night, said to be haunted. Definitely has the eerie feeling of being watched.
Very little left of this place. Just three outside walls and one interior wall. Will only take 3 mins to see it. There is only a few places to park on the verge just outside the gate, so be careful if parking. Else you can walk about a mile from Boscobel House but it's a dangerous one on the side of the road with no footpath
It is only small and free to enter but if you are going to Boscobel house then it is worth a visit , I would advise leaving your car at Boscobel house in the car park and walking down to white ladies priory it is about a 15 to 20 minute walk down the road and through a lovely woodland pathway . As I said it is not a large site but is still very peaceful and very beautiful. You can image what it was originally like and there are still some pretty stonework to observe .
