A small, unassuming car park nestled in the rolling hills of the North York Moors, surrounded by heather-covered moorland and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Used this car park for walking on Holt Heath and wood. Decent amount of car parking spaces and free. Nice walk in the woods opening up into the heath. Typical woodland under foot so there are a few trip hazards but nothing you wouldn't expect. Dogs loved it and met plenty of doggy friends on the walk. There is a district lack of poo bins however we did find one, if you face the way you came in and walk to the post in the centre of the car park and then turn right there is an opening there with a poo bin just on the left. Good way to spent an hour or two
Nice car park. Free! Lovely place for walking through trees and across the common. Decent paths.
Great little area of Holt national nature reserve. You and either walk out onto the heath or walk within the tree line. Seems to be a quite place most of the time. Car park is small so probably why it's not busy.
Beautiful area to walk your dog, good amount of parking for free
Great place to stop for a forest dog walk!
Plenty of free parking, a lovely dog friendly area for a walk with or without a dog. White sheet is heathland, expect boggy areas, gravel paths, gorse, bumble bees and ground nesting birds. Dogs are requested to be on lead or under close control although I saw many off lead dogs and no birds during our walk round. We spent around an hour walking.
