In the same family for over 900 years, descendants of the Normans, the house is a fine example of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. It is built of warm brick, with pediment and a later, 19th century porch. One of the outstanding features of Whitmore is the extremely rare example of a late Elizabethan stable block, the ground floor is part cobbled and has nine oak-carved stalls. Features: A lime avenue leads from the church to the house, and surrounding parkland and lake suggest 'Capability' Brown's hand. Whitmore Hall is open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tours are held from May to August. The Hall and grounds are also available for Weddings and Events.
