Wig Island is a small, uninhabited island located off the coast of Pembrokeshire, Wales. The island is a haven for wildlife, with a large colony of seabirds, including guillemots, razorbills, and gulls. The island's rugged coastline is marked by steep cliffs, rocky outcrops, and hidden coves. Visitors can take a boat trip around the island to spot seals, porpoises, and dolphins, and to marvel at the island's natural beauty.
I still think Wigg island is a fantastic location to take the dogs for a walk. There are many different paths to choose from that all loop around pack to the car park in the end. There is a car park available at the beginning of the trail free of charge and there are plenty of sports available. There is a sign available that show all the times the car park closes. Along the trail is filled with trees, bushes, flowers and even a lake that you are able to explore. You might even find some hidden sculptures along the way. There are also some wildlife such as birds, rabbits and ducks along the way depending on the time of year. There are multiple large fields for dogs and children to play and it could be a great location for a picnic in the summer. My dogs absolutely love there time at Wigg island. It's a very relaxed walk and you are able to go at your own pace. There are also some fantastic photography locations along the way. I would really recommend a visit on a lovely summer's day.
This is a hidden gem in Runcorn, it's surprising how many people aren't aware of this place. It's great for photography, Pokemon GO (If you're into that!), dog walking, cycling, running.. the views are great especially in the summer months. Definitely my favourite place in the town.
Good couple of hours walking my mud magnet dog on a lovely sunny afternoon. Has hides for the twitcher. No public toilet or a cafe here but picnic tables and benches spotted around so bring your own and enjoy. Plenty of tracks to follow.
Great place to visit, free parking, tarmac paths, green open spaces, picnic tables, bird hides, amazing views of the new Mersey crossing bridge! Woodland trail as well. Dog friendly!
Excellent walk for the dog beautiful scenery, plenty of benches and seats for picnic.
Such a beautiful walk with lovely scenery too, especially seeing the Runcorn Bridges. If you haven't been here before then you need to come and visit. Lots of friendly people and dogs too!
