A picturesque harbour on the west coast of Scotland, Wigtown Harbour is a charming spot surrounded by historic buildings, quaint shops, and scenic views of the Irish Sea. The harbour's tranquil atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing stroll, and its rich maritime history is evident in the old sailing vessels and fishing boats that line the quay. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood at one of the many local eateries, explore the nearby Wigtown Bay, or take a boat trip to explore the surrounding coastline.
What a little gem this place is on a sunny day. I had a morning walk to the bird hide and along the river estuary. Lovely and peaceful.
A nice enough nature reserve, free parking is available and board walk to the bird hide which is well maintained and comfortable enough (for what it is) to sit and watch the wild fowl.
A Hidden gem,we had a nice picnic and visited the bird watching hide to catch a Heron feeding.
