The Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, founded in 1928, is home to Wirral's art collection. Alongside our permanent collections, we host regular temporary exhibitions. Exhibitions are always free entry. The cafe serves a range of hot and cold drinks and cakes. We can arrange educational visits for school groups - get in touch to discuss your curriculum requirements. The Williamson is available for wedding hire and we also offer room hire packages for meetings.
Amazing gallery. I really enjoyed the 'Into the Wyld" exhibition that is currently taking place. Well worth a visit
Lovely little museum. Lots of local history exhibits and lots to read. Great for a wander round for an hour or so.
Went along to view the Lowry paintings they have on exhibition presently. Really well presented and I'll certainly go back shortly. Going to the match looks like the people are moving.
Visited the L S Lowry exhibition to see the painting of "Going to the Match" which is on tour throughout the country. This painting was purchased recently for PS7.8M so it's a great opportunity to see a fabulous piece of Lowry's work plus some additional Lowry works and art by other local artists. The WIlliamson Art Gallery is a fabulous building, and their exhibitions have been great. We also saw the Apollo photography exhibition here last year, which was brilliant
Such a brilliant art gallery that I've visited for many years. Entry is free and there are regular new exhibitions and events. Two main exhibits today were the Craig Easton photography exhibition and the worst record cover exhibits.
Lovely gallery, contemporary art alongside artefacts of local history. Great cafe and amazing courtyard. I love children's corner theme related to the exhibition Apollo Remastered.
