Willingham Woods is a scenic woodland area in Cambridgeshire, England, featuring a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees, including oak, beech, and pine. The woods offer several walking trails, including the 1.5-mile Willingham Woods Trail, which takes visitors through a variety of landscapes, including ancient woodland, heathland, and wetlands. The area is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including birds, insects, and mammals, and is a popular spot for nature lovers, walkers, and horse riders.
Toilets and small cafe at car park. Massive woods with a few different trails / routes throughout the woods. There's lots of picnic benches in the main area near the 'entrance.' Small lakes or rivers inside the woods with benches / logs etc to get to the other side. lots of good fun to be had. Many of the trees are growling freely as well as some more maintained around the paths and trails. Many places to ventur into the wild . All in all a Wonderful woods , The litter bins could do with being emptied more regularly as are often overflowing from peoples picnics etc.
A absolute must for bikers and families alike! Loads of parking, on side toilet facilities and a "butty shack" serving hot and cold drinks and the best bacon sarnies around. Extensive woods to wander and get lost in and loads of wildlife to enjoy... and...... AND!...ITS FREE!!! well, everything except the butty shack (obviously). So grab a blanket and some sunscreen and give it a go! (and enjoy all the lovely bikes)!!!
Nice place to visit. Lovely walk around the woods and small cafe for refreshments. Could do with picnic area updating and maybe a small park for small kids.
It's been over 30yrs since my last visit, I've been away for too long. The pond that's got fish and lily pads used to be a swimmable bit of water in hot weather nature has taken over and the only safe swimmers now are the ducks and fish. Reasonable price kiosk however hot drinks come uncovered and uninsulated and hot food only come in a paper napkin so open to the elements and cold a piece of foil would be nice
Nice place to stop for a break and a quick coffee on a long journey.
Nice place to enjoy a forest walk. Free parking and a chocolate factory with shop just round the corner too
