Standing 79 feet tall, Winterton Lighthouse is a striking white tower with a red lantern room, situated on the north-east coast of Norfolk, England. Built in 1846, this historic lighthouse features a unique design with a cantilevered staircase and a first-order Fresnel lens. Its beam reaches 25 miles out to sea, guiding mariners safely through the hazardous coastal waters.
Great for blowing the city cobwebs away miles of golden sands just down the road from Sea Palling never crowded nice car park and cafe etc
Beautiful but difficult to get to. It's private property so you can only take pictures from a distance. There isn't a direct road to the lighthouse so park somewhere else and walk to it.
Good accommodation and nice garden. The stairs to the top floor are very steep and only for people that are able bodied. Nice views from the top floor of the Lighthouse.
We spent a wonderful few days at this lovingly restored lighthouse. The owners have added to the character rather than disguised it. The most perfect winter bolt hole.
Stayed here for 3 night's had an absolutely wonderful time. Will certainly return.
A great landmark, but don't come to look around unless you are intending to stay, as it has been converted into a very nice holiday cottage.
