A picturesque seaside resort town, Withernsea Sea Front boasts a stunning 1-mile stretch of sandy beach, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports. The promenade, lined with colorful beach huts, offers scenic views of the coastline, while the adjacent Pier, built in 1877, features an amusement arcade, food stalls, and a lively atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy donkey rides, boat trips, and other activities, making it a popular destination for families and couples alike.
Spent a few hours here en route home. Enjoyed a stroll then had teas and bacon butties, service speedy and staff very nice and friendly to everyone. Worth dropping in if you're visiting the area. There were a lot of people about and on the beach enjoying the sunny weather. Sand and pebble mix beaches with good access. Seafront small garden/seating areas with picnic tables for use. Public toilets are available further on the seafront and a couple of small gift shops. Keep walking past the bowling green and right next to that is this charming little cafe serving food and drinks. There are a few small the usual seaside fayre, Reasonably priced cold drinks and iced, donuts and more. The East Riding Leisure Centre is just next to car park with modern gym facilities, indoor heated swimming pool and a really nice spacious indoor/outdoor cafe serving meals. Great for those not so warm and dry days.
Not a large place but the beach is good and there are amusements and rides. Also a nice park to eat a picnic. We enjoyed it because it wasn't as busy as the more popular destinations so found it more relaxing. The dogs loved the beach.
