This 26-foot waterfall is nestled in the scenic Craik Forest, near Hawick in the Scottish Borders. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and is a popular spot for walkers and nature lovers. The tranquil atmosphere and picturesque setting make it an ideal location for relaxation and photography.
Little hard to find but certainly worth it when you do. Signage would help as there were several people walking around asking others for directions. Lovely quiet area. Weather was great for end March. You don't have to go abroad to find a little bit of paradise.
Beautiful spot and the surrounding forest is magical. Went during the drought of '22 so there was just a trickle of water. It would be nice to see full force.
Been visiting periodically for past 30+ years. My old dog's favourite walk.
A place I've lived near for 15 years and never knew it was here until about a month ago. I love waterfalls and although this one is no Victoria Falls it certainly has a visual charm. Getting to it is not entirely straightforward though: On the most direct route, it's almost exactly 1 1/2 miles from the car park - an easy stroll along forest tracks for about 1 1/4 miles - it's the last 400yards where it becomes a little indistinct. Some of the paths that are shown on OS maps no longer exist, even footbridges on the map are long gone without trace. Once you find the correct path, it is punctuated by stretches of ankle deep mud and extreme narrowings (a slip will land you in the water below). Return is by the same path. Update June 2021: The Forestry Commission took it upon themselves to remove all of the footbridges in 2020. Still trying to find out whether they will ever be returning. For now if you want to visit the falls, you need to ford at least one stream.
Can be a challenging find if you've not been there before. Bridge on the path has been removed
A bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort, some paths have collapsed and midges may be very active, not signposted but there is a trace of a path to follow.
