16th-century, English Renaissance style mansion housing natural history museum, set in parkland.
I love Wollaton Park and have many fond memories of visiting. It is lovely for a walk and has a decent playground for children to enjoy. Great to watch the deer - although, you need to give them space. The hall is an impressive and attractive building - sometimes they have exhibits on, etc. The gardens can look nice in the spring/summer although they have suffered in recent years due to budget cuts. There are various places for coffees, iced creams, etc so ideal for family days out. Recommended.
Brilliant place to visit and free. like a museum inside with great exhibition and there's a great little shop at the end. The grounds are beautiful and great for picnics and a nice park n few fair rides for younger kids
A wonderful family day out. Pay for parking but the hall museum is free. It felt a smaller, similar experience to the natural history museum in NewYork. We loved it. The hill is quite steep, but there is wheelchair access once you get in the hall. A hidden treasure! We will definitely return.
Lovely park and grounds set within an historic estate. I've now been to the park on several occasions when visiting family who live locally. There are plenty of walking routes to choose from and multiple entrances in and out of the park. The hall is the centre piece of area and provides views across the park and the surrounding area. This location has been used as a filming location for several films and period dramas and it's unusual for a hall like this to still be readily available to access in a public space. The facilities on site are very well used and of a high standard. The main playground includes lots of equipment and can appeal to children of all ages. Every time we've visited it has been extremely busy so if your children need less stimulation you may wish to take this into consideration. Within the estate there is also a golf course that is frequented by deer roaming. Down by the lake you can take a circular route, which is a lovely walking treat in its own right and it feels a little less busy if you want to have some space to yourself. All in all this is a 5 star park and a local Nottingham gem that is truly worth discovering.
Lovely place to visit with family as it has something for everyone. Pkay area for kids, cafe, an old house that Batman fans will recognise, and beautiful gardens. Only downside is the annoying parking system!
A very big and beautiful park. We spent half a day there, looked for deer for a very long time, they turned out to be behind the parking lot on the right. On weekends there are a lot of people, there is everything you need, a cafe, toilets, plenty of picnic areas, a museum, a children's playground, parking on both sides of the park, golf courses. Parking PS6 all day.
