Woody's Cottage is a 16th-century timber-framed cottage in the village of Beckley, Oxfordshire. The cottage is notable for being the former home of Florence Wood, the inspiration behind A.A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh stories. The cottage has been beautifully restored to its original charm, featuring low ceilings, wooden beams, and a cozy atmosphere. Visitors can explore the cottage and its gardens, which include a Pooh-themed playground and a shop selling Winnie-the-Pooh merchandise.
This is a holiday cottage owned by the National Trust, not a place to visit, which Google thinks it is. It is a quiet, peaceful cottage. Close to the woods and nature. Highly recommended if you want some quiet time
NT cottage rental on the Ebworth estate. Dog friendly. Walks from the door
There were some safety issues that, on reading the visitors comment book, had not been picked up by management and addressed. Bottom step of staircase was a hazard and a previous visitor had fallen. There was a little mouse/shrew under the kitchen sink when I arrived (not an issue for me as I love them but may put others off). The mouse had eaten a lot of the plastic under the sink and appeared to have been there for a while judging by the droppings and the chewed items. There was no milk provided on arrival so remember to take your own. Finsihing touches were not there which is rare for a national trust property. Got the feeling that someone has taken their eye off the ball when managing this place and not been reading the guest comments book.
Beautiful cottage in a fantastic stop well looked after.
Fantastic place to stay very cosy and clean contact less check in and departure lots of walks on the doorstep
