Wootton Lodge is a 19th-century country house located in Staffordshire, England. The house is a fine example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture, featuring a mix of stone, brick, and half-timbering. The building's façade is asymmetrical, with a prominent tower and a grand entrance porch. The interior boasts intricate plasterwork, ornate wood carvings, and stunning stained-glass windows. The lodge is set amidst 75 acres of picturesque parkland, offering scenic walks and opportunities to spot local wildlife.
Stumbled upon it by chance. We were on a drive to nowhere. When we noticed an arch in the wall and it enticed us in . What a lovely surprise. The building is beautiful with a stunning backdrop. We sat on the public path ( a beautiful mannicured lawn). I could of sat there till dark. So peaceful and with losing my father recently, it was the perfect place to sit and escape my grief for a while. We were approached by security who was a nice polite man . I also made a visit the weekend after and walked further along the public path. Tasting the juicy blackberries along the way. I wish I lived nearer
This is a lovely hidden gem. The house is not open to the public but there are two footpaths crossing the large lawned garden, and one of the paths offers excellent views of the house - plus there are great walks in the surrounding fields and woods.
The Post code never got us to the place..
