Worden Park is a 150 acre country park in Leyland, Lancashire with a large children's playground, cafe and craft center as well as model railway, formal gardens, maze, wildflower meadows, an arboretum and extensive woodlands. A great family day out throughout the year. Works to refurbish Worden Hall in the centre of the park are now complete and the newly reopened Folly Cafe can now be found in its new home within the Derby Wing of the Hall, along with new public toilets. The park's overflow car park is open at weekends and school holidays. At other times, alternative parking is available in the town center car parks which are a 5-10 minute walk away from the North Lodge entrance.
This is an excellent area there's something for everyone from the walled garden and ample green space to model railways and a huge children's play area. All the space is disabled friendly and as we came with children we obviously used the toilets multiple times and they were incredibly clean and tidy. The entire area excluding the children play area is all dog friendly.
Brilliant play area for all ages of children, big variety of climbs, slides and other playground equipment. Cafe is good, some attractive park garden areas to sit in, great duck pond etc but what sets it apart from everywhere else is the availability of the fantastic small scale stream railway rides which all my grandkids and ourselves absolutely love whatever the weather. A great bunch that run it too, hearts of gold, thank you.
Exceptional park. The best around. The maze is difficult. The pond is teeming with life. The formal garden is beautiful, the rockery is wonderful. The parking is superb. The mature oaks are magnificent. The playground is splendid.
Great park! Loads to do! From walks around the maze and beautiful gardens and along the river! Loads of football nets to play football. Beautiful train to ride on, only open on tuesday and sundays for a donation. Cute little mini golf. Icecream van and kiosk! Loads of areas to have a picnic! And plenty of spaces to park your car! You can spend the whole day here!
Lovely clean park and fantastic for kids. The play area is nice and big with plenty to do. The Maze is fun and we enjoyed a nice lunch in the cafe. Well worth a visit.
Fabulous play area for the children. Lots of open area for picnics and for the children to play. The small Railway was not running, which was a shame. There is a cafe which I thought was a bit expensive. Especially as it was only one slice of bread for children's ham sandwich. The grounds near the cafe are lovely
