A picturesque waterfall located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, Wordsley Waterfall cascades 15 meters down a rocky slope, creating a misty veil that surrounds the area. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and moss-covered rocks, with stepping stones and wooden bridges allowing visitors to cross the stream and get up close to the falls. The roar of the water is soothing, and the tranquil atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for relaxation and contemplation.
If you're coming to see the waterfall and don't know the local area well, you will end up in the Pet Crematorium car park. It appears the waterfalls are hidden, and if you in a car, there isn't anywhere to park, which isn't private land.
It looks nice but there is no proper and easy access to get near it. I just took these images of the "waterfall" by the canal. Also I went around end to a private property in which I did not further browse around because I hear dogs barking. Somehow what I appreciate the most is the scenic views around it like the open field across the canal and the foot bridge to cross the river.
Wonderful walk to the famous Water Falls. Luckily we saw salmon leaping made our day. Ideal spot for wedding photos.
This is not a waterfall. It is a weir. The recent highlight of said weir was the dead pony that floated here for almost 2 weeks. People who swim here get parasite infections. I literally don't understand how this has made it to the "attraction" status.
Having made the hike up to the Wordsey/Kinver escarpment we were not disappointed. But I would suggest this place is even more dramatic in the fall. You are banned from attempting to go over the falls in barrels and the like, ever since Lord Lawns-Wood attempted this after a drunken bet in 1834. Charles Blondin finally made a successful crossing on a high wire at his third attempt in 1862 three years after conquering the mighty Niagara Falls. Well worth the visit.
Took boys for nice adventure/ walk to run off some energy was really looking forward to seeing waterfall but there no acces to get good view of the waterfall the closest we got was canal side and we managed to see a bit of it through the trees lovley to listen too tho always a calming feeling sat by the water
