This ancient woodland is a haven for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. The woods are dotted with ancient monuments, including Bronze Age burial grounds and medieval settlements. Visitors can explore the woodland's many trails, taking in the sights and sounds of the natural world. The woods are home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, birds, and insects, and the trees themselves are a mix of deciduous and evergreen species. In the heart of the woods stands the 16th-century Worsley Old Hall, a stunning example of Tudor architecture. The hall's grounds feature a beautiful lake, walking trails, and a variety of plant species.
Beautiful winter walk in the woods! The paved trails were wide and dry, with plenty of benches to stop and enjoy the views. The side trails were a bit muddy. Information on the history of the area is available in some spots.
Nice walk around could be better if have more things to do for kids , but it's nice for adults very nature friendly surrounded.
Brighter days are coming so time to get out.just a short local walk but nice & tranquil.lovely little kind of pond .Full of birds .plenty of families out people with dogs.
Great woods for wandering on paths or going off paths to explore. Lots of exits and entrances with on street parking close by. Joins up with mixed walking/cycling paths, and Bridgewater canal. Great kids playground in the middle - I use as an outdoor gym The Delph pub is a great stop off - walker friendly, beer garden space for dogs, fab food and friendly staff
A wonderful place for a walk and an explore. The main paths are very accessible for the likes of prawns etc and we ventured a little off on the trails too on foot. We followed the 5km park run route which we enjoyed. We're looking forward to exploring more very soon
