Long pier from 1862 with an amusement arcade & fishing zones, plus a pavilion with a theater & cafe.
Great pier with lots of fantastic artwork to view, whilst taking a leisurely walk to the end and back. One of the nicest piers I have visited. Clean and well maintained
Lovely pier with some amusements and a nice restaurant on it. Lovely to walk, run or even fish from it. Sunsets are really nice from there.
Nice to walk along a pier but not alot on there except a small arcade which was absolutely packed, it was not clean and you felt you needed to wash your hands when you came out and the prizes you got in exchange for the hundreds of tickets you needed were extortionate . There was a nice ice cream parlour on there which was a good price and was delicious. We didn't go into the pub on the end of the pier so I cannot comment.
Found it a good starting point for my walk and relaxing time. A strech of 5km track works too well for me - walk straight and you find a good mini jungle. Nearby you also have so beautiful cafes, charming Saturday party night and local market place. Wednesday fruit market wins my heart. Would certainly visit this city / town more frequently in 2024.
Just a walk along the pier. Popped into the amusement arcade. Spent a whole PS1 .....
It takes approximately 4 minutes to walk from one end of the pier to the other. Significant savings can be made if you use rollerskates. If you kneel down and look through the gaps in the boardwalk, then you can see the sea! Or, you can just look over the side. There are fishermen who frequent the pier, and they are like rough, bearded gods who should be admired and congratulated. You can feed them chips or bacon, but don't get your fingers too close as they can get excited and accidentally give a playful bite. I highly recommend.
