The Ww2 Military Prison is a former military prison located in the United Kingdom, specifically designed to hold and interrogate captured German and Italian prisoners of war during World War II. The prison's architecture and layout were designed to maximize security and efficiency, with features such as watchtowers, barbed wire fencing, and cellblocks. Today, the prison has been preserved and converted into a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the lives of prisoners and guards during wartime.
Such a shame this is just being left. Go and visit whilst it is still there.
This derelict building can be accessed through the Richborough Castle site. The slope down can be slippery and does have steps. There are two stiles to climb over and an unprotected railway crossing to traverse in between. After the last stile you enter a field which may have livestock so dogs must be kept on a lead and children to remain calm. Walk along side the river which is idyllic in its own right till you get to the old building. A graffiti artist/s have painted some lovely art pieces on the walls. Care should be taken on the fallen debris.
Nice little wonder, easy to find just as you can't miss it, Pokemon stop to if you play pokemon go, the walk take. You past the roman Fort so if in the area do both same day
I tried to edit the name on here as a little research clearly tells you that it's world war one and not two, but Google says it can't be verified...Not at clever as you thing hey Google! Lol. It was pretty interesting, even though I couldn't get in due to flooding. Seems like it was a prison for rule breaking local British soldiers but also, intruigingly, had at least a few German POW held there too.
The World War 1 prison was AMAZING & YES ITS not ww2
Derelict ww1 detention building, good to have a wander to from Richmond Roman fort complete with some period graffiti.
