This 12-acre woodland garden features a variety of plant species, including trees, shrubs, and wildflowers, with winding paths and hidden clearings. The garden is home to a range of wildlife, including birds, insects, and small mammals, and offers scenic views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can explore the garden's many features, including a large pond, a wildflower meadow, and a woodland walk with sculptures and art installations. The garden is designed to be a peaceful and tranquil oasis, with plenty of seating areas and picnic spots to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Lovely walk although not obvious where to start it (we're not local), we drove around for a bit back and forth before we spotted some people to ask. It's on the opposite side of the road from the large walled manor house through some black metal gates. You can park down the lane to the left of the care home entrance. There are lots of ducks which will come close if you bring food for them.
Blown away by this place, I was not expecting this at all. So many delights around every path. Lucky local people to have this to enjoy.
A magical mystery tour. I didn't know what to expect but I got more than I bargained for. A real little secret garden. I got the essence of a time gone by walking around the gardens. And the tree!!! It's HUGE! Although we saw other people, you get a sense of peace and tranquility. Stunning.
A haven for scenic appreciation with the soothing sound of flowing stream , blowing of wind, playing ducks and chirping birds echoing around the snowflakes covered garden.
Pleasant, mostly shaded wood. Nicely maintained paths and avenues - suitable for children and elderly dogs. Just mind out your dogs are on the lead near the ducks and other small birds, especially by the water.
Lovely place to explore nature and get away from the town. Lots of ponds, ducks and fish to spy as well as bug hunting and den building. Reasonable parking that's free. Quite muddy down the track after a few days rain. No toilets. Gramp managed to get around with a disability walker but it's not flat even ground. No designated disabled parking either but we had no issue being next to the gate. Really enjoyable hour or so walking and watching the ducks.
