This 140-hectare park features a mix of woodland, heathland, and wetland habitats, with several walking trails and a variety of wildlife, including deer, foxes, and birds. The park also includes a lake, a cafe, and a play area for children. Visitors can explore the park's scenic landscapes, enjoy a picnic, or participate in outdoor activities like cycling or horse riding.
A beautiful common, very popular with local dog walkers and horse riders. A mixture of open gorse and heather covered heathland, as well as small wooded areas and a couple of ponds that often have fishermen on their banks. A truly diverse and lovely piece of local countryside that is great for family walks.
Such a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the beauty of nature. I made sure to stop and look at all the wild flowers that are currently in bloom.
One of our favourite places to walk with our dog. Wonderful in all seasons but it is an area of nationally scarce lowland heath so wildlife takes priority. Because of this dogs should be under control & on main paths not free roaming amongst the sensitive habitats. Paths are wide, gravelled & generally good but some get very muddy in wet weather. Nightjar, Dartford Warbler, Adder, lizards, Stonechat & many other heath specialists make their home here. Carparking limited to certain area but I'm lucky enough to be able to walk from home.
Lovely place to walk with heathland, woodland and a lake.
Nice enough place to go walking and worth the visit if you've never been. All the different little paths are interesting but there are no (or least that I came across) open areas to walk through and arguably can begin to feel a little claustrophobic. Yes there are some areas that you can look out across but you can't readily walk through them. Again, it's OK, but if you're walking an energetic border collie and you like big open spaces you may want to reconsider.
It's a nice place to walk with dogs and generally. Good for horse riding too as we pass alot of horse riders. Beautiful around the lake.
