A towering sea stack of dark grey limestone, surrounded by crashing waves and salty sea spray, stands isolated off the coast of North Wales. The rugged, weathered rock formation rises 120 feet out of the Irish Sea, its vertical walls worn smooth by the relentless pounding of the ocean. At its peak, the stack is topped with a flat, grassy plateau, a haven for seabirds and a testament to the region's unique geological history.
Easy 15min walk from the car park. Not busy at all. Stunning scenery, would recommend.
Bit of a hike, but well worth it. Spectacular.
This is a hidden gem. Private, beautiful coastal walks with amazing views
November. Overshadowed by the 0ld Man of Hoy, Yesnaby Castle sea stack is a lot more accessible, and is an imposing feature in its own right. We hiked out late in the afternoon to see it at sunset. One of the highlights of our trip to Orkney
Beautiful rock formations!
Interesting to see where they placed the Rover 200 series car all those years ago for the TV advert. Equally amazing is the big hole in the base of the Sea Stack.
