Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP), Art Fund Museum of the Year 2014, is the UK's leading international centre for modern and contemporary sculpture. Welcoming around 380,000 visitors each year, YSP is an independent charitable trust and registered museum situated in the 500-acre, 18th-century Bretton Hall estate in West and South Yorkshire. In 2023 YSP was awarded Visitor Attraction of the Year and Cultural Award in the Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards and awarded VisitEngland's gold accolade in 2021-22 for an outstanding visitor attraction.
The best walk in Wakefield area. Stunning sculptures and landscape. Easily accessible by public transport. Cafe on site and they serve wonderful ice cream . I have been there many times but I will come back with friends and family for more. There is a picnic area with seats. place you must visit if you are in the area! Makes huge impression!
The park is extraordinarily beautiful in all seasons. I love it. It's difficult to pick a few photos out of the thousands I took over the past 17 years. You must go to see the exhibitions, the landscape, and the nature.
Entry fee is a bit eye-watering so make a day of it. The lunchtime food offer was really good and quite sensibly priced, so a consolation for the entry cost. Some good walks and interesting things scattered around the estate like the walled round wood. Check what's actually open before you trudge off in search of a nice coffee or ice cream. The main centre building is very nice with a great view from the balcony area.
what a lovely place plenty to see and lots of nice walking with sculptures to see along the way and a cafe for something to drink and eat after a long walk. my son loved the den building the views are amazing. There is plenty of parking, we spent the whole day there.
Such a beautiful park - enjoy the greenery snd nature while viewing various art sculptures and meeting the cutest sheep, goats, highland cows and more. 3 pound per person entry after 3pm (check online before going).
What a brilliant place to visit! We, my son, and I arrived at the park on opening time on a Sunday and drove straight through, no queue. We had a wonder around for around an hour and a half admiring the amazing and sometimes wacky sculptures. Then went and had a coffee and scone, which was very reasonably priced to discuss all the sculptures that we had seen. Great couple of hours, but could easily spend more time exploring further afield.
