A place I visit regularly throughout the year . Well worth a visit if you are in the area. With a good road connection , free parking , book tent , gift shop , toilets teas and coffee you could easily pass and hour or two as train rides run on a short length of track running half hourly from Fimber Halt. Friendly staff that are happy to help or answer any questions
Fab hour at the railway! Me my partner and son had a ride on the train, such friendly staff who are so passionate about what they are doing and the upcoming projects! I am looking forward to watching the railway develop and grow. See you soon with my dad for a driving day!!
Went with my grandson he loves trains had a really special day. Staff where amazing would recommend.
If you're in the area, take an hour out and visit this amazing little Heritage Railway. This lovely little Heritage Railway offers a driving experience for PS15. As my wife is train mad I booked her the experience, thinking we'd book a few things to do on the day. The volunteers were very friendly and welcoming, and the little museum has some interesting local history. The driving experience was brilliant- footplate experiences at larger railways usually run three figures, so actually being able to drive the train for this small fee was fantastic, and my train-mad wife loved having this opportunity. The track is very short; railway track is VERY expensive as it turns out, and this is a small operation. With local investment and support from train/railway enthusiasts this place has the makings of an amazing heritage railway; the fantastic volunteers here definitely deserve the chance to see that development. Thank you so much for a memorable experience, folks.
Had a driver experience. It was really good, friendly, safe and fun. Thank you Katie and Ian, you were just the perfect instructors.
An emerging gem - aiming to rebuild a section of the Malton-Driffield railway line through the surprisingly remote Yorkshire Wolds. Low key - only a short ride with a shunting loco and a brake van, but the potential is immense and the enthusiasm is great. Looking forward to seeing this line grow as it heads towards Wetwang. Everything good value and a very welcoming & friendly experience.
