This unique attraction is an underground 18-hole mini golf course located in a former slate mine in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales. The course features elaborate theming, special effects, and interactive elements, transporting players to a fantastical underground world. As they navigate the course, players will encounter animatronic creatures, water features, and dramatic lighting, creating an immersive and thrilling experience.
Was bought this experience for my birthday trip away! The location was easy to find. We had booked in for 11:50 as it stated there was more free places at this time and we expected it to be busy. There's a short walk to the actual course which does involve negotiating a fairly long set of steps and low cave roof at times. You're issued with a helmet before you set. Off! The actual course isnt too challenging, there's some great features, including traditional mining equipment, that have been placed on the course. An eery atmosphere with the lighting, and it can get dark in places! It's also quite cool, so bring an extra layer. An optional feature is to ride a slide to the last couple of holes or so. - there's stairs, should you not want too. I had a great time, and had a special chicken sandwich meal in the cafe for lunch! Thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will visit again!
Just turned up on the day and the lady at the till was very helpful in getting us onto the upcoming session. Train ride down was fun. Golf itself was a great time. Lots of interesting courses, really enjoyed the slide! Made our rainy day really enjoyable. Best to book in advance if you want a guaranteed space.
A quirky and interesting place for mini golf, the 18 holes are well made and fun to play, the caves are nice to look at and journey in and out was an interesting method... you get the cable railway down the mine shaft into the cave, zip down a tall slide once you've completed the course and head back up on the rail. Staff were friendly and helpful, there's a shop and a small playground on site.
Maria and I always try to play mini golf, wherever we go, I know sad old fogy's. But this is the first time we've played underground, at an old quarry. Great afternoon out on a Rainy Day, well worth the visit.
I'll be brief with the golf, we'll organised, felt safe, very fun, amazing staff. All good. After we had food in the cafe on site. Typically places like this are over priced and extremely poor quality food. Not here... well, its expensive, but I don't care less when the food and service is tip notch. Honestly the best burger and chips I've had for years. Really well done to all the staff and organisers. This will certainly make people come back again. (4th visit for me to the zip world group)
It's interesting place to play golf. A bit expensive but for family fun it's ok.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Getting tickets in advance recommended
Good for kids
